Gulf Coast Blood is a non-profit, community blood center responsible for providing voluntarily donated blood and blood components to more than 170 hospitals and health care facilities in the 26-county Texas Gulf Coast, Brazos Valley and East Texas regions.

The Gulf Coast Blood Center is always in need of blood donations to meet the constant, daily need for 1,000 units of blood in the region. They are particularly in high demand for all blood types, with special emphasis on O negative and O positive. Donors are encouraged to give whole blood regularly to ensure adequate blood components, such as red blood cells and plasma, are available for cancer patients, trauma victims, and surgical patients.
