The 25th annual Houston Summer Boat Show, which wrapped up last Sunday at Reliant Center, reports a 6% increase in attendance and a significant boost in sales.

The indoor summer show, the largest of its kind in the nation, took place from Wednesday, June 20th to Sunday, June 24th.

Houston Boat Show President Ken Lovell says, “The crowds were enthusiastic from day one. It was a noticeable turnaround from last year at this time when Texas was plagued by the drought. The sales were extraordinarily high. There was a good mix of both experienced and first time boaters, and we saw boat and RV sales in all price ranges.”

Lovell says boat dealers are very optimistic as many view this as an indicator of continued strong sales growth in the industry.

The Houston Summer Boat Show featured 300,000 square feet of nearly every type of recreational vehicle, including fishing boats, ski/wakeboarding boats, kayaks and RVs. The show also added new activities this year, including a large inflatable playground for kids and appearances from local and national celebrities.
