SAILTIME ANNOUNCES YEAR-ROUND AFFORDABLE YACHTING
Instead of looking endlessly at sailboats for sale, go sailing by sharing new sailboats for less than what others spend on slip fees and maintenance alone. Sailing has never been easier with SailTime. SailTime factional sailing provides a unique opportunity for sailors to share time on a yacht without having the normal commitments and financial obligations normally associated with yacht ownership.
Until now, the choices to sail in the U.S. have been limited to owning a yacht, owning a yacht in partnership or chartering. "Costs associated with owning a brand new yacht can be out of the reach for many people," explains Kevin Kaiser, SailTime Houston's Base Manager. "Not only is there a significant purchase price of the boat, but also the ongoing cost of marina fees, insurance, maintenance and general running costs, which can all add up significantly. Chartering can also be expensive, with costs of a brand new 32-foot yacht can be up to $1,000 per day in high season."
SailTime Houston is part of SailTime, a global, professional fractional sailing company of sailboats located in Kemah, approximately 30 minutes from Houston. SailTime Houston's fleet of sailboats include the new Hunter 326 and 356 sailboats, all docked just 10 minutes from open water sailing in Galveston Bay. SailTime Houston recently had its 50th member join the fractional sailing program. The Houston location now has eight yachts in its fleet.
Sailors in SailTime are able to sail a brand new yacht, a minimum of seven times per month for an all-inclusive fee that is considerably less than the cost of a marina berth alone. Upon joining, members are associated with a dedicated yacht and will remain with it for the duration of the membership. New members are also ASA trained on the yacht they join.
